Built for self-taught guitarists

Loop any YouTube video.
Practice deliberately.

The practice tool — not the teacher. Bring your own songs from YouTube. Loop the hard sections. Slow them down. Watch yourself improve, one tempo step at a time.

No credit card. No download. Works in any modern browser.

What it does

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Four core capabilities that turn YouTube from a watching tool into a practising tool.

Section loops

Click-to-place loop endpoints with frame-accurate boundaries. Save and name multiple loops per song — that tricky F to G transition gets its own bookmark.

Smart speed control

0.25× to 1.5× playback that keeps the pitch correct (signalsmith-stretch under the hood). Auto-ramp from slow to full tempo as you nail each step.

Real practice tracking

Streaks, daily heatmap, per-song speed stairways. See exactly which tempo bucket you've spent time at — and watch the bars climb week over week.

Your songs. Your library.

Paste any YouTube link. Or upload a local file (Pro). No curated lesson library, no "sorry that song isn't available" — the catalogue is whatever you can find online.

A peek inside

Tablet-first. Distraction-free.

The dashboard surfaces today's practice; the grid is your song library. One click to start where you left off.

Why not just …

… Yousician / Fender Play?

They sell a curated lesson library. Great if your favourite song is in it. We sell the tool — practise anything you can find on YouTube. No content lock-in.

… YouTube on its own?

YouTube has speed and a clunky A-B loop. It doesn't remember your loops, doesn't track your time, doesn't show progress. We make the YouTube you already use 10× more useful for practice.

… a paper practice journal?

Paper is a great idea that nobody actually keeps doing. We log every session automatically — the heatmap fills in by itself just by practising.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to sign up to try it?
No. The whole practice tool runs in your browser without an account. We're rolling out guest mode shortly — until then signup takes 10 seconds (email + password) and unlocks cross-device sync of your library and practice history.
Where do my videos come from?
You bring them. Stairway2Fast doesn't host a content library — you paste YouTube links and the official YouTube player handles playback. Pro users can also upload local files (their own recordings, downloaded lesson clips, etc.). We never re-host or re-distribute YouTube content.
What about copyright? Is this legal?
We don't host content. YouTube videos play through YouTube's own embedded player (so creators get their normal view count and any ad revenue applies). For Pro uploads, our Acceptable Use Policy requires you to own the rights or have permission. We have a DMCA takedown procedure and respond to rights-holder notices.
Does the ad-blocker / Brave trick really work?
YouTube ads play inside the embedded player by default. Browsers like Brave (with built-in shields) or Firefox / Chrome with uBlock Origin block them at the network layer. We don't ship anything to circumvent ads ourselves — you're using your own browser's settings on the YouTube embed.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave — on phone, tablet, or computer. We design tablet-first because an iPad on a music stand is the ideal practice setup. No app to install.
How do refunds work?
30-day, no-questions-asked refund on your first subscription. Cancel any time from the settings drawer; access continues until the end of the paid period.
Is it for beginners or advanced players?
Both. Beginners benefit most from speed control (learn a riff at half speed before pushing tempo). Advanced players benefit most from looping and stats (drill that one bar you keep missing, then prove you've nailed it). The tool is the same either way — it's how you use it that changes.

Stop just watching.

Open the tool, paste a YouTube link, and you're ready to loop. Free for as long as you need it.
